The School of the Arts at McMaster University has been presenting concerts for over 40 years, playing host to some of the most talented musicians in Canada and across the world. This year we are pulling out all the stops and have booked a fantastic line up of concerts for your enjoyment.
January 19, 2014 – Concert: The Toronto Mass Choir
The Friends of Art History was founded in 2010 to offer a series of events for its members and the general public. Our goal is to promote the appreciation of Art History at McMaster and in its broader community. The Friends is an international organization that includes students, faculty, alumni/ae, and the general public.
January 19, 2014 – Art History Talk: “Fantin-Latour’s Group Portraits”
The School of the Arts’ Honours Performance Series features work of students from the graduating class of the Theatre and Film Studies program working in collaboration with third year student designers. Each year the HPS productions reflect the interests and creativity of the current generation of McMaster students.
March 13-14, 2014 – Opening HPS Shows
The School of the Arts invites the Hamilton and surrounding communities to be guests at a series of Free Lunchtime concerts, which include classical, jazz and world music. Bring your lunch, relax and enjoy 50 minutes of beautiful music!
March 18, 2014 – Concert: Kirk Starkey
The McMaster Museum of Art serves as a cultural hub for the University campus and the region through dynamic and multi-disciplinary exhibitions and programs, scholarly interpretation and preservation of collections, and innovative practices in museology.
September 20, 2013 – Curators Talk: The Baroque
The School of the Arts is home to a number student ensembles, including the McMaster Chamber Orchestra, the McMaster Concert Band, the McMaster Jazz Band, the McMaster Flute Ensemble, the McMaster Percussion Ensemble, the McMaster University Choir, and the McMaster Women’s Choir. All ensembles normally perform at least one full concert per term.
November 17, 2013 – Concert: McMaster Concert Band
The Visiting Artists Program hosts public presentations by artists, designers, and scholars each year in lectures, symposia, performances, and screenings. The primary mission of the Visiting Artists Program is to educate and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of contemporary art through discourse. All events are open to the general public.
September 23-27, 2013 – Plein Air Artist: Jim Reid
